Our Vision To provide the best start in life possible to all children of the Los Medranos community - physically, emotionally and spiritually - from before conception to the age of five.

The children of the community Los Medranos are born into severe poverty. Threefold Ministries and the Skylark Centre extend a helping hand through the Best Start in Christ Program.

 The incidence of teenage pregnancy is very high - somewhere around fifty percent. Many of these children are born to young women ill equipped for their role, with little education or resources to help improve their child's position in life and break the cycle of poverty. With a few simple steps and your help Skylark Retreat Centre and Threefold Ministries can encourage these families, assist them in caring for their children, improve the quality of life and minister to them spiritually. With time we can endeavour to break the cycle.

On Friday, November 20th, Skylark hosted the first graduation of the Best Start in Christ Program. Fourteen two-year-olds completed the program and received their diplomas with much "pomp and circumstance." Then, they had a party! The year was wonderful with these children, sharing God's love and learning the ABCs. The children will now move on into the community pre-school system, and we will receive a new class of two-year- olds eager to play and learn.
