Are there any other costs involved?

Medical packs like these enable Nicaraguan medical staff to work their miracles rather than watch children die for lack of medical supplies.

We ask that each Team Member bring two hockey bags (50 lbs) full of either: school, medical or hygiene supplies that we can distribute to the Nicaraguan people at schools or hospitals.

Also, we ask each participant help to raise funds to purchase Physician Travel Packs. These cost $750 each and provide close to $5000 worth of medicine. Additional funds are also needed to purchase medicine not available through PTP's.

  • Threefold Ministries is a registered Charity.
  • All funds raised will be receipted for income tax purposes

  •  Desire and passion to help the Nicaraguan people!
  •  Made duplicate copies of your passport and birth certificate before leaving Canada. Leave one copy at home and pack the other copy separately in your luggage. While travelling in Nicaragua it is important to carry your passport with you at all times.

How do I pack! In a word lightly!

You may want to keep the following in mind as you pack for your trip:

  • Dress for the climate it's HOT!
  • Light clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat and a water bottle to carry with you.
  • Don't forget a notepad for journaling and recording the memories of your trip.
  • Leave anything at home that you really want to keep. This includes jewellery, expensive watches, etc. It's unlikely that anything will happen, but there's no sense taking chances
  • Washroom facilities are not always like ours in Canada. It would be a good idea to have hand sanitizer and travel packs of tissues with you.
  • All personal items are to be packed into one carryon bag (be sure to use an appropriate sized bag as designated by the airline).
  • Two hockey bags full of medical supplies will accompany each person travelling to Nicaragua.
