First-time team members understand why Dr. Joe Stasko of Windsor, Ontario, continues to travel to Nicaragua.  It goes well beyond the number of abscessed teeth, the necessary cleanings, scalings and fluoride treatments that the team tackled.  It lands with the personal interactions that occurred, and the true difference that the work that they do made.
Two 35-year-old twin brothers arrived at the Skylark Centre for the dental clinic in February.  One of the two was not flashing a smile upon greeting the team.  He presented with an abscess in the back of his mouth, but the condition of his front teeth were a (and, his primary) concern.  Following treatment, his reaction was thrilling.  His goal in attending the clinic attended by the visiting dental team was to get his smile back.  He expressed thanks to the Good Lord for his sending of this team who was able to do just that!
