    Nothing can separate us...

    A reflection on 2020 February 23, 2021

    Wayne's ponderings

2020 was a year that will long be remembered for many reasons, most of them likely not positive.  At Threefold, like you, we mourned not being able to see friends and family in the usual way.  We struggled to pay the bills and to adapt to a new way of operating in a COVID world.  But mostly I will remember 2020 as the year our amazing staff stepped up to ensure that programs could be run safely, that the centre was kept clean and safe, that children could be taught remotely even with no internet access!

It was a year that stretched us as a Board and certainly me as Managing Director.  But beyond numbers it was a year to see God’s love in action.  We saw that in July when our skills-training classes resumed and women learned how to make masks.  One woman immediately recruited friends from church and, putting her new skills to work, they made 3,000 masks which they sent to a remote community in need.

We saw it in the young life of Timoteo who graduated from our Best Start pre-school having been helped to overcome his speaking disability and now ready to enter the school system better able to communicate and with a deeper understanding of God’s love.

It has been a year of separation but I have been drawn to remember all year,   “Nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Thank you for partnering with us.  You are making a difference in lives young and old.
